A couple of weeks ago we went as a family to the Arizona Diamondbacks game. It was Madelyn's first MLB game and it happened to fall on Star Wars night.
Madelyn wasn't so sure she needed her ticket.
The boy were totally into the game, Madelyn was more interested in drinking her drink and watching the people.
Being that it was Star Wars night, it was funny that the Storm Troopers and Darth Vader escorted the umpires out.

Isabelle swooshed her water around in her mouth and tried to eat as much junk food as she could.

Dad loved it and would to go every game with his kiddos if he could.

Madelyn played with water bottles from the seats in front of us and of the people's next to us.
Then came the ice cream.
And it was time for Madelyn to investigate more of the stadium than just our row. I took her up to walk around the concourse level.
She LOVED it and while she was almost trampled a few times, I was able to rescue her.
It was so cute how she'd walk everywhere with her hands behind her back, just casually strolling along!
The game was a lot of fun and while we had to leave before it was over (late night), it was a fun evening for the whole family.
Now that baseball has ended for a few weeks, guess its time to follow the MLB teams for a while. At least most of these games we can watch from the temperature controlled (cool) center of the comfy couch.
In keeping with the trend of being several weeks behind, I decided instead of trying to find time to write several posts on what our summer has been like, instead I'm going to put them all into one and catch up by sharing lots of photos.
So here we go...
In May my dad and Maelyn came to visit for 10 days. It was really nice to spend time with them! Sure wish we could see our Iowa family more often.

With the sale of our house and the move to our temporary home, we've lost all control of sleeping structure with Madelyn. She has assumed a permanent place in our bed and definitely makes her presence known (she moves all night long!!!!). That being said, if I'm being fully honest, with the scare of her breathing we had 6 months ago, we've never stopped worrying about her at night, so the fact she is right by me, makes me sleep better I think.
The boys started swim team this summer and have been really enjoying it. Isabelle also completed swimming lessons and did well. Next year she hopes to be on the swim team too.
The boys are collecting quite a few red and blue ribbons! So proud of their efforts.

We've also been able to swim with a few friends before and after their summer trips.
Gabriel also spent the month of June playing on the All-Star team for Chandler American. Its really really hot to watch them play and I can't even imagine how hot is to play. He doesn't seem to mind it much, as long as he can play, he doesn't care what temperature it is outside.
Isabelle is working on learning how to dress herself with matching clothes. If I can get her to stand still long enough to take her picture you'd see why. Actually I'm happy to report, we are making progress, she's figured out how to put the shirts on so they are not backwards. Progress!
There has also been some pretty sweet moments happening as well. Like this one below.
Madelyn loves books and here is Isabelle reading to Madelyn. So sweet, be still my heart. I hope they stay the best of friends their whole life.
On Father's Day dad took the four kids up to the Musical Instrument Museum and let me stay home to catch up on a few things. I kind of felt like it was Mother's Day all over again. Here they are getting ready to leave in the car! They had fun and mom enjoyed the peace and quiet too!
They loved it and here's a video of Isabelle's song. If you can't tell she made it up herself and decided to sing about God. Why the lyrics have to be shouted, I'm not sure. And Dad said he was pretty sure the others enjoying the museum at the time were quite taken back. I love her free spirit. Her brothers, aren't in agreement. They say she embarrassed them constantly.
Madelyn has finally grown some hair! Yay!
Dad is enjoying converting Madelyn into a baseball fan too. Here he and she had just finished watching the Diamondbacks game. Too funny, their heads from the back are almost the same!
Dad's also a comfy place to sleep too.
Madelyn is growing up fast. She says so many words now and loves to have her blanket wrapped around her as she walks around the house. It seems each day she learns a new word and is understanding more and more.

The other big news is that we sold our house.
We were literally jumping for joy that it sold so quickly!
Crazy to see the house empty. We hope the next family that moves in is able to create just as many happy times.
We excitedly await what comes next. The house hunt is underway and hope we find a new place to call home soon.
Its been a busy summer full of activities, fun and blessings.
Here we are half way through summer and I still haven't posted about the two big graduation celebrations we had in May.
Gabriel completed elementary school and Isabelle finished up with Preschool. It was fun to watch each of the unique ways the classes celebrated the completion of the important milestone in their lives.
5th Grade Kick Ball Game: Kids versus Teachers and Parents:
An annual tradition at the boys' school is that the fifth grade class, on the last day of school has a kick ball game where they take on the teachers and the parents. Gabriel of course was convinced he and his classmates were going to "crush" the parents and teachers.
Dad, couldn't wait to join in on the fun and turns out Gabriel's dream of "crushing us older folks" wasn't too accurate. There are some talented 5th grade teachers at the game of kick ball, and the parents aren't too bad either!

In the final weeks of school, Gabriel and the 5th grade class had a concert where they sang songs and played instruments. It was fun to watch and Gabriel did a great job.

This past school year was a great one for all the kids. They worked hard, they tried their best and we are proud of them all. In a few short weeks, we will be starting another chapter as Isabelle begins her elementary career, Michael starts his final year of elementary and Gabriel embarks on middle school. Not sure if I'm ready but I guess I'll have no choice. The days are flying by.
