The other day I was sorting through old magazines and tossed a bunch in the recycle bin. They were Southern Living, Pottery Barn catalogs, Rachel Rays Cooking magazine and Parents magazine. What I didn't realize that there was a magazine of great interest to Michael. I watched him as he walked by the recycle bin and noticed the old Victoria's Secrets catalog on top. He paused, stood over the recycle bin to stare at the cover, then, with his interest peaked, pulled it out, and walked over and sat on the floor next to Isabelle.
I stood behind the high counter and quietly observed while he started having a conversation with "Isabelle" but in reality himself about the catalog. It went something like this...
Isabelle, do you see all the pretty girls? Yes, they are really pretty aren't they.
See in this picture they are wearing shorts because it is hot outside...

Oh see and in this one Isabelle, the pretty girl is going to go swimming. Look at how pretty they are.
And page by page followed by descriptive commentary, until....
I couldn't help but interject and asked, "Michael, what are you doing?"
To which he responded, "Mom, I'm showing Isabelle all the pretty girls, so she knows how to dress when she's not a baby."
"Nice cover" I thought to myself, but smiled and instead said, "Well that's nice Michael."
Until next time,
Angie
