Belle's blanket

Nana has graciously made Isabelle, 3 yes three blankets, all which Isabelle adores.  There are two crochet blankets which are always, and I mean always with Isabelle.  She sleeps with them, she carries them around the house, she drapes them around her neck like they are scarfs, they accompany her to day care everyday, and even to the wood chip playground. They are definitely a best friend and sense of security for Belle.

The teachers at her school joke and ask me if Nana would be willing to make one for each child in Isabelle's class because most days they fight over who gets to carry, hold or chew on Isabelle's blanket.  And although Isabelle is willing to share some things, sharing her blanket is NOT up for discussion.

Several months ago Nana also made Isabelle the most beautiful and vibrant baby quilt, I've ever seen.  I know a little bit, and by little I mean, A LITTLE bit about quilting and to be clear, I think quilters have a gift.  I've made one quilt and I would be embarrassed to show too many people the finished product.

Nana's quilt to Isabelle though, now I say it is a work of art.  Here are some pictures from when Isabelle first got her quilt.  The attention to detail, the bright colors, the triangle tags for Isabelle to play with and the amazing machine quilting designs make this quilt a thing of beauty.

I believe this will become an heirloom for Isabelle and maybe even her children some day to cherish.  I can say for now, we sure enjoy having it and are very appreciative for all the hard work and love that went into making it.

Thanks Nana for such a special gift.
Isabelle is definitely a fan!

Until next time,
angie
