Today we celebrated the Fourth of July. We were lucky enough to enjoy time with family today and tonight as we sit and watch the fireworks on TV from our cool living room, Jarrett and I can't help but reflect back on where we were a year ago.
Last year, I didn't even acknowledge the 4th of July. I was in a place as low as low one can be. I could barely pull myself out of bed, let alone bring a smile or even think about celebrating a holiday. I just couldn't. I was devastated beyond words and looking back now I can see why Jarrett was so concerned, so scared about where I was, where we were.
And that's why this year feels so different. While our heart will never fully heal from the loss of Noah, I can tell you we are in a completely different place now. This year, I am excited to get out of bed, I'm able to smile and today was a great family day we were able to spend together. My how life can change in a year.
Here are a few pictures from today... so many more smiles this year.
This fourth of July I give thanks for what wonderful blessings I have in my life. For the gift of getting to live in the greatest country in the world and for getting to be a mother.
Here's hoping your Fourth of July holiday was safe, fun and full of abundant smiles as well.
Until next time,
Angie
