One of these fine days I plan to finish writing up Jenning's birth story. Truth is I was actually writing it during labor, but when things "got real" I got busy doing other things. So it isn't all finished.
In the sake of seriously wanting to get some sleep tonight, I decided I'd just do a photo drop of quite a few pictures we took while in the hospital and within the first few hours of being home with Jennings.
Let's get started...
Here we had just arrived at the hospital and in our Labor and Delivery room #21.
Comparing belly's... I had him beat.
This is a sign I have come to feel multiple ways about. From being so so happy to see a warming bed turned on, to wanting not to see it. I guess it all depends on your perspective and circumstances. Thankfully this time I was VERY excited to see it in the room and turned on warming, waiting for a new baby.
Last belly shot.. well one with a baby in it. I still have a belly, just definitely not as cute as before. Now it's more of a flabby belly... I still cherish it and give thanks to my body for successfully carrying Jenning's to full term. The extra skin and flab is a sign that I was able to do something I wanted to experience my whole life.
My view for the first 6 plus hours of labor.
And then things started happening and there is a break in the photo recollection because...
Soon enough he was here and my dreams had come true again.
Here are proud parents. So thankfully he arrived safely.
Our very dear and special friend, who was with us during Noah and Madelyn's birth just happened to be working the same evening that Jennings was born. How blessed we were that she was our L and D nurse yet again. God answers prayers in the most amazing of ways.
This lady is so special and I am so so thankful our lives were brought together.
Proud dad.
Sleepy baby after a strenuous process to get here. Both he and I were pretty tuckered out.
It is amazing how you can grow to love someone you only met through feeling and movement. And then the minute your eyes meet theirs, it is instant love all over again.
One tired but very happy momma.
I love him so. Such a precious baby.
Dad taking care of wrapping him up to sleep soundly
He loves to have his hands in his mouth. In womb and here too.
Visitors....
Uncle Nolan and Uncle Jarrett, with Daddy Jarrett and Jennings Jarrett.
Jennings had swallowed a lot of fluid and had a few episodes of choking in postpartum They decided to suck out his stomach and turns out he had all sorts of yucky stuff that was making his tummy hurt.
Sonya, Acadia and Ryan came to visit!
The kids meeting their little brother again.
Uncle Nolan and Jarrett helped watch the big kids for a day which was so nice of them to allow us to bond at the hospital.
Also big thanks to the grand parents who watched the kids on each side of Jenning's arrival here.
Wide awake taking in all in.
Siblings were very interested and very proud of their newest friend
My friend Liz came to visit. She has been a great source of support and encouragement these last few years. Plus she's a nurse and has great advice as well.
And Aunt Stacey came to visit. We met Aunt Stacey when the boys first started preschool many years ago. She was Gabe's first teacher and we've come to love her. She's family to us.
We attempted a selfie.. all 4 of us.
Anita and Andrea came to visit as well. We are thankful they came bright and early to meet Mr. Jennings.
Andrea has always held a special place in our hearts, as she's helped us care for our kiddos for many years. Now she has an adult job and while we wish we could still have her care and love on a regular basis for our kiddos, we will always cherish the memories we had and look forward to the times we still get in the future.
Cheese! Thankfully the light is hiding the bags under my eyes! Anita looks great and I think in a few years she could be holding her own grandbaby. Exciting times ahead for them.
Daddy bonding with his little guy
Getting ready to say goodbye to the hospital and hola to our home.
HIs first time outside in the warm AZ sunshine. He loved the warm weather.
And on our ride home!
This big sister is one very proud and loving sibling. She is VERY involved in wanting to take care of Jennings, LOVES his smell and keeps me updated on everything he does. She is our best babysitter!
She LOVES him so much! She is going to be quite the momma someday.
My dear friend Melanie came to met Jennings. She and her family will be celebrating the birth of their newest little girl in a few weeks. Maybe Jennings and her can be friends.
Nana and Papa have been a great source of support too. We are so thankful for the support, and the kids have loved getting to spend extra time with them! I love this picture!
Belle waiting for Jenning's next move, just to make sure he is okay. With having jaundice he got to lay in the sun for a bit each day. Belle made him a very comfy spot and watched him the entire time to make sure he was okay.
Soaking up the sun!
So little, and so cute!
Mom and Dad were here for almost 4 weeks and were incredible to us. We enjoyed getting to spend time with them.
love this little guy
He sleeps in this bassinet right next to my bed.
although another favorite place for him to sleep is on our chests.
Love how he has his hands up folded together right under his chin.
Starting to get used to his car seat... although he didn't like it much at the beginning.
Sleepy baby.
Sound asleep
Still likes to move and raise his hand. His nana made him the most beautiful rainbow blanket. It's perfect size and he loves to snuggle in it.
Smiles every once in a while when he's got gas bubbles in his tummy.
Perfectly precious in every way.
Love him.
In every possible way.
He most definitely is the cherry on top of our ice cream sundae.
Until next time,
Angie
