Grandma and Grandpa decided to come out at the end of June as they were convinced the baby was going to come early. Turns out, Jennings waiting and that meant mom and dad waited too. The ended up staying for almost 4 weeks and it was the longest they had stayed by 3 weeks. In that time we had a great opportunity to bond, connect and build memories. All of us enjoyed getting to spend quality time and build memories. I think everyone realized that their traditional week long visit isn't long enough. Jennings waiting to come turned out to be one of the biggest gifts as we got to have lots of fun.
Some of the memories made include:
Dance parties thanks to Alexa and the girl's music choice.
Getting to play Rotten Egg, one of the best games of a person's youth!
We got to celebrate Grandpa Chip's birthday!
There were plenty of opportunities to read and snuggle up under a blanket... which Grandpa loved (not) since it was over 100 degrees outside!
We also went to the Tempe Museum and had a lot of fun! The girls got to drive the fresh produce truck.
Isabelle posing for the camera!
Working hard on their produce truck.
Dad and the boys learning about the history of Tempe.
Then Gabe had to try to drive the truck.
Grandma and the girls made sugar cut out cookies!
Madelyn played with a tiny bit of dough (which we later threw away) for about an hour. Meanwhile grandma rolled out all the cookies and baked them.
More chances to curl up and read a book with Grandpa.
and more baking.
Grandpa, the boys and big teddy were watching You Tube videos on Grandpa's phone.
Before I went in to deliver, we took one last family photo as a group of 6!
We also went to a Diamondbacks game the weekend before we were induced. It was really fun to go and I think everyone had a nice time!
The girls sat together!
Grandma and Madelyn at the game.
And the boys got to sit together too!
Isabelle and Madelyn were most excited about getting a picture with Baxter.
Other pictures from the Tempe museum are these funny ones below.
Here is my "Harley Davidson crew"
Quite the motorcycle guys no?
While the boys played on the motor cycle, Grandma and the girls played around in the ASU foodball stadium and the Stage theater they had.
Madelyn loved this wig, she thought it was Elsa hair.
They told me I could post them!
Madelyn loved this wig too!
And on our way out of the museum.
The girls pretended to be astronauts.
More snuggles with Grandma.
Trips to Costco with Grandma and Grandpa and Isabelle was lucky enough to get to be a check out clerk for our trip. She loved getting to use the scanner gun.
She thought it was so cool! And now wants to get a job there in her future! (Maybe we can get an employee discount). :-)
We played games including Pie in the Face!
And the girls got to go to McKuddos Island which they loved.
Mom and Dad also treated us to a fun adult evening out. We got to go to Durants Steakhouse and have an incredible dinner, followed by tickets to the Theater to see "The Adam's Family." It was such a fun night and Jarrett and I jokingly (but with true honesty) said "It will probably be another 20 years before we have an evening like this again".
There were so many fun times and most of them not captured in photos because we were enjoying each moment and savoring the time together.
The kids and us had a great time and hope they can come back again soon.
Grandpa was such a trooper, he let Madelyn decorate his entire face with stickers.
She was trying to "Make him a pretty princess"
Until next time,
Angie
