Another tournament, another ring.

The weekend before Christmas the team Gabe has been playing on for fall competed in a winter classic tournament.  The games were in Gilbert at a baseball complex that has fields that resemble MLB team stadiums.  It just so happened that Gabe's team played at the Diamondbacks stadium.

It was really fun to watch and their team did a great job.

It felt strange to be sitting in a baseball stadium with Christmas only days away.  While I honestly was ready to just have some downtime at home, I knew Gabe wanted to play so we all went out to the game.

It is almost like you are at the real AZ Diamondbacks stadium.

Gabe getting ready to bat!

Their team lost their first game but then rallied back and ended up making it to the championship game on Sunday.  That afternoon they played in the final and while they did a really nice job, they came up 2 runs short.

So they settled for silver place.  Which isn't too bad considering how many teams they beat out to get there.

Yep it was cold.  We waited around for the presentation of the awards.

And then the boys got a big runner up banner and more rings... this time a silver ring to match the Gold one he had gotten a few weeks earlier at another tournament.

Here's Gabe's newest ring...

Yep the rings are huge... they make my hands look tiny.

It is really fun to watch him and his team be successful. We took a break for a few weeks but just last weekend he was back to it.  Spring is lining up to be a busy one. I can almost here it now... "Play Ball!"

Until next time,
Angie
