Not what you see everyday....

Or maybe its what you couldn't see.

Yesterday, on the great Super Bowl Sunday, we had some crazy weather.  When I woke up to go running, I looked out the window to realize I couldn't even see across the street.  Not even to the end of our front yard.  All I could think of was... Seattle fans brought their fog with them.

Out I went for a run and I felt like I was running through clouds.  I tried to take a picture to fully grasp just how foggy it was but kept getting pictures that turned out like this...
 OR

This.  Seriously, there's a sign there is some moisture in the air.  Not something we often see in the desert.
And yet, in a strange, peaceful way, it was really fun to run in.

When I got back home, I woke up the boys and told them to come quick to look outside.  Like it was Christmas morning, they jumped out of their beds and raced to the front room.  I opened the blinds and their stared outside.  They weren't even sure what they were looking at.  With their eyes wide as the sky, they looked at me to see if they should be concerned.  When I told them it was just fog and that the Seattle fans probably brought it with them, their uncertainty turned to smiles and Gabriel said, "Yeah right mom, you just want Seattle to win."  (See we had taken bets at dinner the night before and Gabriel & Dad picked the Patriots while Michael and I picked Seattle to win).  I laughed and said, I"m joking, but isn't the fog crazy, you can't even see across the street.

The fog lingered around for several hours, in fact when we left for church a couple hours later, the fog was still very thick.  This time Isabelle got to experience it for the first time.  She kept saying, "LOOK AT THE FROG DADDY! I CAN'T EVEN SEE MY EYES!"

We all laughed which made her repeat it over and over again.  Michael tried to explain to her that is wasn't frogs causing the fogginess, but that it was FOG.  He said, "Isabelle can you say FOG?" to which she would respond, "FROG".  We all thought it was funny.

As we left church, the fog started to clear and we headed back home.  As we turned the corner onto our block you couldn't believe the surprise we saw, when out our windows was this...

Yep, that's what you think it is.  Good old fashion snow.  Yes, right here in the valley.  The boys started yelling asking if they could play in it and Isabelle started singing, "Let It Go" because of course Elsa has made it snow.  And that's when Gabriel said, "So Mom, now you're going to try telling us that the New England fans brought the snow right?"

Here's hoping your Super Bowl Sunday was full of many fun sights!

Until next time,
Angie
