Checkers anyone?

Several years ago Jarrett received a game basket from him mom and dad.  Jarrett loves to play chess and this was a gift he really enjoyed.  Recently Jarrett has been teaching the boys how to play checkers and chess.  And now the boys have mastered, well not quite mastered, but are really good at playing. 

Just the other morning I woke up to them playing by themselves.  Gabriel was even being nice and letting Michael "king" him, so Michael didn't feel so bad about getting slaughtered by Gabriel's more experienced moves.

They were playing so nicely and I was enjoying watching them play.  That is until they added a new move to the checkers game.  It was a move called, "flick the checker at the other player"  and before I knew it the boys had scraped the game of checkers and were have a dodge ball fight with pieces.

The boys have insisted Dad taught them all their skills in playing this game.  Now I've haven't played with their dad recently and maybe that is how boys play checkers but I've never seen it played that way.
