Mom's Water

July 2012- Isabelle 5 months

There must be something tastier about my water.  Since the boys have come to be with us, it isn't very often that I have my own water.  Often, I pour myself a tall glass of ice water and set it on the counter while I go about my morning. Usually when I come back it is completely gone, even though I've only had one or two sips.  I know immediately it is the boys who have decided to make my water a shared community water.  I've gotten use to it now and I lost my fear of sharing someone elses germs, moments after becoming a mom.

That being said, it totally surprised me the other day when I was holding Isabelle and took a drink from my water.  As I put the cup up to my mouth and took a drink, I could tell her eyes were watching me the entire time.  Then as I started to lower the cup I saw that she following the cup down with her entire head.  She bent her head forward and before I could even realize what I was doing, I was sharing my cup of water with Isabelle.

I didn't even know babies would be interested in drinking out of a cup.
But interested was an understatement.  She LOVES drinking out of a cup and as soon as she got one gulp of water, she was face back down to get another drink.
I figured that around a 10 months we'd introduce a sippy cup to her.  To be honest, maybe that's even way off, I haven't gotten that far in the baby book.  So drink out of a cup at 5 months she did.

And now she LOVES sharing my water.  Every time I have a glass, and am holding her, she's face down and bent forward waiting for me to tip the glass to give her a sip.

Until next time,
Angie
